Patricia, in this photo the bunny was a baked potato.  It is not being portrayed as meat at all.  Same as someone who dressed their bun up as a piece of pizza. If you look again I think you’ll see that it is simply a potato 🙂 Think ‘dressing a weiner dog up as a hot dog’. That doesn’t mean anyone wants to eat their weiner dog….

I don't want rabbits depicted as food at all.  They are considered "poultry" in this country.  It's not the same as a dog.  The dog is a costume.  This is real sour cream, real butter, real fork and real tin foil.  It's not cute.  I want the winner to be a costume that depicts a family member.  I will never shop at this place again.

That’s your right to have your opinion but there are a lot of people here that love their rabbits that think it’s cute.  I thought it was super clever, the bunny looks like a potato….

Jesus christ, Patricia, take ur prozac and calm down. Find another cause other than a rabbit dressed up as a potato. Are you kidding?!

The rabbit is a baked potato not meat you idiot

It doesn't matter.  The bunny is depicted as food.  I don't want rabbits to be referred to as food at all.  In this country the government labels them as poultry.  This is a "real fork, real sour cream, real butter and real tin foil."  I've been advocating for them too hard for them to be seen as family members.

Patricia, I have given you a platform to voice your opinion however right now you are spamming my page with basically the same comments over and over again.   I will not be approving anymore of your comments, you’ve said what you want to say and others have responded.  I respect your right to have your opinion, please respect others’ right to disagree.  This photo was in good humor, nothing malicious was intended.   And I believe the butter is fake 🙂

Admin, thank you for responding so civilly and patiently and allowing negative feedback. Thank you also for politely ending the stream. Yours is not an easy job but you're doing it really well. 🙂

This is why the tide is turning against the political correctness movement. People like you who are triggered by literally everything, and want to ruin everyone else's fun.

The rabbits name is potato and treated better than some people's children. No one is going to eat the rabbit. 🙄

I agree, I don't like it at all, made me feel sick actually. I get that it's meant to be cute & funny but it lost its humor on me

While the bunny in photo 3 is supposed to be a baked potato, on first glance it obviously looks like food.  The analogy of a weiner dog dressed as a hot dog does not hold water as weiner dogs in our country, are not eaten as food as rabbits are.  While I assume that the photo was all in good fun and no ill will was intended, it is at least, not thoughtful to post.  Lets keep buns out of photos in foil until we can get them out of foil all together. Please don't call me an idiot, it is my opinion.

    • Patricia Patricia

      Thank you I totally agree.

Dear Ladies, it just so happens this Bunny's name is POTATO. This is the only reason he was dressed in this matter. His owners think the world of him and in no way would even joke about this being related to food in any other way than his name!!! The butter is a toy slab of butter. I really think you  people should relax. Things are not always what you assume they are. You started a major deal out of something that was simply adorable and all about the name of the pet.

  2. Rebecca Rebecca

I think they are all just adorable!

It would've been a crime not to dress the Bun up like a baked potato, looks just like a potato and the costume was obviously perfect for him! Very creative and cute

we dress our children up like donuts, and people eat donuts and people eat people, why not go yell at a little girl then a bun who has a passion for dressing like potatoes!

I understand Patricia's concern and passion for the safety and respect of rabbits as beloved pets because I feel the same way. However I think what may be of note here is the audience. The name of the site is "I Love My House Rabbit". Anyone who is interested in this site and who would dress their buns up for Halloween are not going to treat their bunnies as a food product. We all love them too much. This is all in fun! Relax everyone…it's going to be OK. By the way, kudos to those who were able to dress their rabbits up. Mine would flick their feet at me in disdain as they hopped away if I tried that. Great pics – love to see websites dedicated to house bunnies and their infatuated caregivers.
